In the afternoon of Sunday, 28 May 2017, Jiarui Wang, vice chairman of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and chairman of the China Soong Ching Ling Foundation, held a meeting with Allison Vulgamore, president of the Philadelphia Orchestra, and some orchestra members in Beijing. Shikun Gao, partner at Shimin Law offices, accompanied the Philadelphia Orchestra to attend this meeting.
Jiarui Wang, vice chairman of the CPPCC and chairman of the China Soong Ching Ling Foundation, wished a great success of Philadelphia Orchestra’s performances in China. In the meantime, he expressed that China Soong Ching Ling Foundation would enhance the cooperation and communication with the Philadelphia Orchestra and collaborate together to plan activities for the benefits of China-US friendship. Allison Vulgamore, president of the Philadelphia Orchestra, said that they would not only provide high-level performances, but also continue to serve as a bridge for cross-cultural communications between China and the United States.
